Digital PIR Technology

EPV occupancy sensors exclusively feature digital PIR technology. This enables occupancy sensors which are much smaller, more sensitive and immune to false triggerings.

All EPV presence detectors use passive infrared (PIR) technology for reliable detection. Other technologies are theoretically possible, but they are generally less suitable for most applications or significantly more expensive.

However, EPV presence detectors differ from most other presence and motion detectors because they use exclusively digital PIR technology.

What are the benefits for you?

  • More reliable detection: Thanks to digital technology, the sensitivity is significantly higher than with conventional detectors using analog technology.
  • No false triggers: The sensor is shielded against external interference. Its resistance to disturbances exceeds the "magic threshold" of 10 volts per meter, even meeting an important industrial standard for interference immunity.
  • Much smaller design: Aesthetically pleasing, compact detectors.
